Mass Effect: Didn't See it Coming Legion x Reader

    You sat in the sickbay with Dr Chakwas, sipping at your glass of Iced Brandy as she told you stories of the original Normandy. There was so much emotion tied into it, your heart bled for her. So much was tied into the things we touch, the things we interact with... the Normandy (even without EDI) had been part of the family. Your mind went back to when Shepard had been dropped on the wreck of the original Normandy to set up a Memorial and to gather dog tags from those soldiers and members of crew who were MIA. She hadn't brought a thing back for anyone who had known the ship, which you couldn't help feeling slightly disappointed in. Sure, you hadn't been around for that, but you had grown attached to the members who HAD and you felt it wrong Shepard hadn't brought anything back for a keepsake. 

    Dr Chakwas excused herself to go talk to Kelly Chambers, leaving you sitting deep in thought as you surveyed the other door. In there was Legion, a Geth surprisingly friendly of nature and giving a whole new outlook. And something else. Something you couldn't explain, even to yourself. A slight blush came to your cheeks as you remembered when you first lay eyes on him. Being with a rather tech origin, you were in awe of how different he was from the Geth people were familiar with. Running a hand through your (h/l) (h/c) hair, you let out a soft sigh. Now was even more awkward as you speculated on the strange feelings that had risen upon meeting Legion. He spoke as if he were many, as people would speak if they spoke as being blood cells instead of as a human. It wasn't much different, yet at the same time it was on a spectacular scale. Looking around, your face flushed again. It was hard to think of him without blushing, and even harder to tell others why you would suddenly blush if he came up in conversation. How could you explain that you... had feelings for a Geth?

    Taking a deep breath, you ventured into the room back of the sick bay, hesitating at the entrance as you caught sight of Legion, standing as always looking at the door. Your mind suddenly shot back some time to when he first was reactivated, that sense of jealousy as Shepard brought him back, as EDI gave him a name. Petty, you knew, but there was no other way to explain that feeling that shot through your chest. It was wrong, you knew, you were human. He was... a robot. And a Geth at that. Your thoughts came back with a jolt as you realized Legion was staring at you and you could feel your face burning up. "Shit," you cursed to yourself as you tried to think of anything to bring down your temperature. Unfortunately, Legion had come forward and touched your forehead with obvious concern. "Not helping Legion..." you couldn't help thinking to yourself as he stared at you. Sure, you weren't 100% human, but you were raised so.

    "Are you ok (L/n) (F/n)?" Legion's voice sent chills through you and you barely managed a nod, though it destroyed any headway you had made towards regaining your natural color. "J..just call me (F/n)..." you murmured, clearing your throat awkwardly. This was going downhill fast, and you forgot why you were there in the first place. Come on, you were a professional. As your gaze drifted over Legion's... what did he call it? Platform? You had to mentally scold yourself. Not THAT kind of professional! "I...uh... yeah I forgot I had something to do... somewhere...." you bolted from the room, leaving Legion staring after you with confusion. You hid down with Jack, who had long since accepted your presence 1) you seemed to have issues of your own and 2) nothing she said or did seemed to drive you away. Besides, as she said, you didn't annoy her or try to talk to her as the others did.

    Jack cast a look over at you and sighed as you sat in the corner you had claimed as yours since the first time you came down here. Pushing to her feet she came over and sat next to you. "What's up (Y/n)?" she asked, showing uncharacteristic concern for someone other than herself. You looked at her surprised, then quickly back down. "It's...uh... well..." you stammered, twiddling your thumbs. "It's complicated," you finally said, resting your chin on your knees. She didn't say anything, but it was obvious she was waiting for you to continue... at least EDI didn't have a place down here that she could say what your problem was. Sometimes you wished you could just shut her off from places you were at, even just for the duration of your time there.

    Finally, taking all the courage you had left, you blurted, "I love Legion!" your face turned a brilliant shade of red when you realized two things. 1) you said it loud enough Engineers Ken and Gabby heard you 2) (and this was the worst one) Legion heard you. Apparently his concern for you was enough that EDI told him where you were, and led him to you. You met Legion's gaze with your own wide eyed one, feeling Ken and Gabby staring too. Could it get any worse? No... nothing came up in your mind. Why couldn't you have confessed it to Joker, he wouldn't have made fun... would he? Ah hell it was Joker. He may love his ship, and he may claim the nickname "Joker" came from a trainer who chose it for the irony because he wouldn't smile... but he WAS a Joker. He wouldn't... couldn't understand. And yes, he would joke about it. If you had told him, you'd be lucky to get away with just bad jokes.

    You quickly buried your face in your lap, sensing as Jack had moved to be between you and the "audience". "(Y/n)?" you could hear Legion's voice and you gave a slight nod in acknowledgement that you heard, but didn't look up. Hearing some scrambling, you had to guess that Jack had taken it upon herself to "clear the area" so you and Legion were alone. You felt a strange hand... that of a Geth... resting upon your cheek and you looked up. "We love you too," he murmured, resting his "forehead" against yours, and you felt that connection... something that went from your mechanical side to his and back again. You touched his "face" and felt yourself pulled into his embrace, suddenly feeling more at home then ever before.
