He sat in silence as you ranted, looking down into his drink. “I know. I betrayed you in every way you needed to be able to trust me in.” You sat down across from him and took another big drink. You felt tired now, the six months of rage inside you draining as you let it out. Fuck. You weren't ready to forgive him yet, but even with all the shit you went through... you couldn't stay mad at him. Even now... it was easier to stay mad without him here.

“Garrus, why are you really here?” you asked wearily, running a hand through your (h/c) hair. "I told you... I came to apologize and... I missed you." Your heart wanted to believe him, oh how it wanted to! But people don't just pull this shit if they really cared, did they? You didn't know what to think, not noticing as he moves to sit beside you cautiously.  When you didn't react, he relaxed slightly though still obviously disappointed. Looking into your drink, you sighed. "What did you expect Garrus? For me to just run into your arms, say it was alright for you to forget my existence until you needed me for something?" You couldn't hide the hurt in your voice. You had been used before, and tossed aside. Now Garrus had been your best friend and comrade in arms... then he just dropped you. You risked your life to take out the man who almost killed him. He didn't even come to check on you.

"Just... just go back to Shepard Garrus. Forget I even exist... forget everything. It obviously meant nothing to you. I understand missing someone who you went through hell with, I understand coming across them again and being happy. But how can you so easily forget the others... you remembered the others... you forgot about me." You looked down at your hands, remembering hearing about Sidonis. He had remembered the betrayer, got justice for the fallen. But what about you? You were still alive, didn't you matter? You stood up and walked to the window, drink left forgotten on the table.

"I loved you Garrus... I still do," you whispered softly, tears trickling down your cheeks. You couldn't be bothered to wipe the tears away, lost in your anguish. "Just leave so I can hate you again. I may have done questionable things in my past, but I've more than paid back for all of it. I've been through hell. Before you, with you, after you. What more do you think I can stand?" you demanded, though it sounded more like a worn out plea. A plea to have this agony ended. For... for something good to finally happen. You flinched as you felt his arms wrap around your waist. "I loved you too (y/n) and I always will. I made a mistake, I betrayed your trust and there is no reason for you to forgive me. But I'm begging you..." He cupped your chin in his hand and turned your head so he could look into your eyes. "Please, give me another chance."

You sighed, sagging back against him, supported by his strong arms. You had missed this closeness you once shared. You still didn't forgive him by any means, well not completely. But that still left... "Why are you here and not with Shepard?" you asked, turning in his arms. "She had a mission to do on her own, I asked that I be left here for that mission so I could make it up to you." You sighed and closed your eyes, and with a motion as natural as breathing you leaned forward until your forehead touched his and you both stood like that, not saying anything, your hands resting on his chest. Slowly, as if with a mind of their own, your hands traced the familiar texture of his armor. It was the one he had worn when he had been blasted by the gun ship.

"Why haven't you fixed this damn thing?" you teased, your fingers tracing the damage, flinching at the memory of the day it happened. The day you thought you had lost him and had taken out the gunship with a vengeance. "I don't know, I think it gives the armor character," he joked back, his eyes reflecting the relief he felt at your relaxing towards him. You reached up higher, lightly tracing the scars on his face. "You almost died on me Garrus. They almost got you too..." you half choked out as your eyes filled with tears again. Again you were forced to watch as a comrade was killed, well in this case was almost killed, and again you were left alone. Well... almost but it was only because you jumped on the gunship. Your mind drifted back to the others, and what would have happened if you hadn't been bound along with the others. Frowning slightly you had to wonder why you had been tied up. If you were a hostage, you wouldn't have done any damage. If you were one of the enemy they should have killed you.

Feeling light headed, you started sliding down but Garrus caught you and swept you up into his arms. Carrying you bridal style, he took you into your room and tucked you into bed. "You did well for yourself (y/n). I'll send you a message of where I'm staying when I find a place." You looked at him drowsily. "I have a spare room Garrus, down the hall, second room on the left. Bathroom is the one before it." "But..." "Don't argue, just shut up and get some..." your voice trailed off as you fell asleep, for once no nightmares, no nothing.

Ohmigawd I just about nearly died from all the feels! :faint:

But I survived, cause I'm that awesome. (Plus I gotta be alive in order to continue writing my series!)

"Get some..." Good grief, my mind went into the gutter for a moment there. I can't help it... :XD:
