“(Y/n)?” “Hmm?” “One with the lowest kill counts buys the drinks?” “Hell yeah!” As the mercs started across the bridge, you couldn't help noticing they weren't proper mercs, just free lance. Ah well, a kill is a kill. With the bass music blasting through the building, it was a free for all with the free lancers. They tried so hard, they all thought that they could be “the one” to get across the bridge. “You know what sucks?” you asked as you and Garrus reloaded, waiting for the next wave. “What's that?” “When they speak of this, you're going to be getting my credit,” you said with a slight pout. Garrus just chuckled.

32 hours later:

Luckily you never ran out of ammo, but the hours were starting to wear on the both of you, no sleep, no time for rest since the free lancers started moving in on you. Then you noticed something odd. “Arch Angel isn't that...” “Shepard.” You couldn't stop a giggle as he clipped her a few times to get her ass to hurry up while you focused on the ones around her. Not that she didn't help, the chaos was awesome. Then the door opened and there stood the famous Shepard with a Salarian and a battle scarred man. “Arch Angel?” Garrus held up a finger before picking off the last one of the wave.

Straightening he went over and sat on the desk with his feet up before removing his helmet. “Well look who's back from the dead.” You watched as Shepard's face lit up with familiarity. “Garrus! What are you doing here?” You snorted at that question, taking Garrus' rifle and reloading it while he reunited with his old Commander. “Staying alive, mostly.” “Are you alright?” “I've been better, but it sure is good to see a friendly face.” You bumped him and gave him an evil look when he glanced at you. He gave you a crooked grin. “Ok a familiar face from happier times?” You scowled. “Oh you know I love you (y/n),” he pulled you to him in a big hug. “You're so lucky I'm on your side,” you muttered, though you couldn't complain about being hugged.

Someone cleared their throat and you noticed Shepard looking at the two of you oddly. “Since when did you start going by Arch Angel?” You tuned out, having been pulled onto Garrus' lap. You didn't really care anymore, but kept a careful eye over his shoulder to see what the enemy was up to. “Now, lets see what they're up to...” Garrus set you down carefully before getting up and going to look through his binoculars. Shepard followed and took out one of the robots that were coming across the bridge.

“Ok (y/n) and I'll hold this position, you Shepard, you do what you do best. Just like old times.” Shepard flashed him a smile, gave you a strange look and then left with the two guys to guard the bottom. As the last one fell, you watched as they dropped an atlas mech. Son of a... you almost died as the giant mech turned around and started shooting it's “friendlies”. You leaned against Garrus, your whole body shaking from laughing so hard. “Spirits (y/n)! Focus!” “B..b..but Garrus,” you tried to protest, wiping the tears of laughter from your eyes. A loud explosion grounded you and you looked to where the big mech had self-destructed. “Dammit. Well, it was fun while it lasted.” You took up position and started shooting up a storm again.

“Shepard, they're done for now, come up here before they regroup.” Garrus sat on the arm of the couch and you stretched out, resting back against his lap while you reloaded your guns. Shepard and her group joined you and they started to discuss strategy.

Two Merc Companies down:

“Think we should try now?” “Maybe, let me... damn it. Well they had to use their brains eventually.” Garrus directed Shepard down to where the Merc's were trying to sneak in a back way for her to seal the doors. “I won't leave you alone Garrus. One of mine will stay with you.” “Oh for...” you grumbled, more than a little insulted. “Zaeed stay here. Keep Garrus alive. “Roger...that...” Shepard moved from "friendly" to "merc list" in your mind at that moment. You took up your position, taking out your rage on the men crossing the bridge. That bitch had better come back alive because you wanted to be the one to...no you couldn't. It was evident that Shepard was important to Garrus. You spun around as men started coming up the stairs, there were just too many of them! You shot the shit out of the men coming up from behind. "Zaeed you and Garrus keep an eye on the bridge!” You pulled out your pistols and charged out of the room, kicking the door shut behind you. “(y/n)!”

You charged down the hall, shooting and beating the shit out of everything in your path. Yep. As much as you loved to snipe (let's face it, there's a beauty and art to being a sniper) but this was definitely a better way to take out rage. You were on the last one when a hand on your shoulder caused you to swing around and slug.... Shepard. Can't deny that was what you wanted to do, but you certainly didn't mean for it to happen the way it did. “Sorry...” you muttered as you headed up the stairs with Shepard and the Salarian (who you later discovered was named Mordin).

“Shepard good work. They barely got... what happened to you?” you sighed. “I was beating on this one guy, she put her hand on my shoulder, I swung around and slugged her.” Garrus started laughing and you glared at him. “I guess I should have warned you against coming up behind her Shepard. (y/n) packs one hell of a punch.” “Well at least SOMEBODY acknowledges me,” you muttered, grabbing a pack of ammo and leaving the group in a huff. At this point you didn't want anyone within a 100 mile radius, not that that was possible but you just didn't want anything to do with anybody. You killed your share of mercs, disrupted your share of illegal ops, caused your share of chaos... who got the credit? NOT YOU! Not fucking you!

You brushed an angry arm across your eyes to get rid of the tears as you reloaded your guns. You really were fucking invisible. The gun ship came back on surprise and took out Garrus, and the rest of your group cut loose. Filled with a new rage you leaped out the window and used the hammer of your pistol to smash the glass, reaching in and slamming the head of the driver against the dashboard, causing the gun ship to spiral out of control and smash into the ground followed by a massive explosion.

minor cursing

Being invisible sucks. NOTICE ME SEMPAI! :pissed:

...Wait what.

Watching an atlas mech shoot it's own teammates while laughing my ass off? Yeah that sounds like me...

Shepard, don't sneak up behind me! Bad things will happen!
